You are incredibly silly. And smart. We just had parent teacher conferences and we couldn't be more proud. You are above average in everything, including MATH. You were the only kid in class to get a 100 on the fraction test. FRACTIONS! WHAT?!
I sent you to bed tonight with a new series of chapter books...since you have read and re-read all of the chapter books you own. I thought it would be nice to start a new series.
You came back upstairs an hour later...you finished the first book. Holy moly. You remind me of myself. I LOVE to read! As a kid I would try and keep my eyes open as long as possible so I could finish just one...more...chapter...
Heck, I still do that.
You are a bit of a dilly-dally'er. It's time for bed at 8...it's usually 8:30 before you are actually on your way downstairs...as sloooowly as possible.
Losha, and I can't wait for you to finish the rest of the books so we can find another fun series!

Dear First,
You are eight years old. I haven't done a super great job of keeping track of things and righting memories down and recording every breath you take of everyday, even though I would love to do just that thing. I am starting this blog here to record things that I love about you and put things that you do and just write to you about everything so that when you are older and maybe my memory isn't so great you have a place to come to.
So that's that. Right now you are 8. You are so special, so smart and so beautiful.
Today you have something special going on at school, you are announcing songs and poems that your class will be singing/reading to two of the kindergarten classes. You are so excited and wore your nicest dress, you begged for my lip gloss to wear. I conceded of course, but said no to the blush and instead I pinched your cheeks until you laughed.
I know that you will do great today and are going to have a great time!
Losha!
Momma
